Tradition and History

The Hotel Gratschwirt is a historic hotel with an important history, which is closely linked to that of the Alta Pusteria. As long as 2000 years ago, in Roman times, our hotel was a well-known place for travellers to rest along the connecting road between north and south. The Roman milestone that can be found in the chapel next door to the hotel bears testimony to this. Since 1905 the Art Hotel Gratschwirt in the Alta Pusteria has been in our family´s hands, and over the years it has developed into a popular holiday paradise that is known well beyond the region's borders.
